No. 281
SOFT
WHITE
When we first began work on No. 281, we soon discovered that the charming 1920s colonial was riddled with not-to-code construction flaws. After a coffee maker started an electrical fire, the kitchen and surrounding spaces were significantly damaged. It took several months to remedy the smoke damage, and in the process, we uncovered all the faulty plumbing work behind the walls.
We used this downtime as an opportunity to work with our clients to identify their new programmatic needs and design sensibilities. Instead of recreating the old home exactly as it was (shout out to Harry Styles), we thoughtfully reworked the affected rooms and brought them to code, effectively updating the colonial into a home suitable for today's living needs.
